Quenching - Once the hot rolled bars are released from the finished mill, they enter the 'Thermex System' water spray system. Thermex Technology is used in the best quality steel manufacturing industry process to rapidly cool the outer core and ensure the ductility of TMT Rebars. The outer core of the TMT Rebars is rapidly hardened to a depth optimised for each section, forming a martensitic rim while the core remains hot and Austenitic.

Quenching is the name given to this cooling technology.

Self Tempering - Once the rebars have been removed from the Thermex Quenching box, the core remains hot in comparison to the surface, allowing heat to flow from the core to the surface, causing tempering of the outer Martensite layer and the formation of a structure known as 'Tempered Martensite.'

Atmospheric Cooling - After the self-tempering process is completed, the bars are ready for atmospheric cooling. This is done on a normal-temperature cooling bed. During this step, the austenitic core transforms into a ferrite-pearlite structure. As a result, the final structure has a strong outer layer and a ductile core. This process raises the tensile strength, making it more ductile and weldable.
